Hagia Irene church inside Topkapi palace recently opened for public. Upper floor is restricted to public. In fact nothing is special. It will take around 2 to 3 minute to see. TL32 seems to be much more when part of it closed.

Very atmospheric. Not much to see inside. Very cool when you enter. It should be better maintained. Parts are closed so why do you have to pay the full admission?

It's not a huge place and has nothing but walls. And yet is one of the most impressive place on earth. Thousands of years compressed in single point. If close your eyes here you can sense the history of Byzantine empire and ortodoxism.

This building is an ancient marvel. Walking in you really have a sensation of walking through an authentic piece of Roman architecture. I was looking forward to seeing this building almost as much as the Hagia Sofia. But inside the main hall the dome is...More

I will be honest, you will find it hard to spend more than five minutes here. Thankfully, I used the Istanbul Museum card. The ceiling has some impressive artwork but you won't know because it is covered by a net with tons of bird droppings....More

Inside the grounds of Topkapi Palace sits this rather plain building and ruins. The highlight for me was watching the antics of the parrots that have made this their home.

Hagia Irene awaits you on the grounds of Topkapı Sarayı. It was deprived of all its decoration and seems completely naked. In a positive sense you can describe it as pure architecture. The church is definitely worth a visit for historical reasons.

What a gem! Purist byzantine architecture, mainly plain brick but awesome atmosphere inside. If you get a chance to attend a concert here don't miss the opportunity.

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere

prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly
epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the
Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this
