Worth a visit if you're in the area but don't make a special trip! If you are already in the Hanoi Old Quarter, you might want to take a peek of this gate since it is near (around 15mins walk) the other spots

I mean maybe because I have been to so many historical places in Hanoi already so another one like this could be skipped for me.

It’s interesting architecture is a glimpse into the history of this interesting city and is a worthy stop on a walk around the area

This is the oldest city gate in Hanoi with lots of traffic passing through this gate everyday. Always keep a lookout for the traffic when you were there

The gate doesn't look impressive but it is still historically significant as the only remaining ancient city gate of Hanoi. This is just a short walk from other spots in the Old Quarter so you can check it out along the way.

The gate itself is appealing as an historical artifact, but the area doesn't really allow for room to maneuver around it. Dodging traffic is a must. Luckily, the area near the gate is full of markets and good street wandering, so it is certainly not...More

Our hotel was 10 meter’s from it (Hanoi Daisy, see review), we walked past it every day and it was a handy spot to meet the grab (taxi). Built in the mid 1700’s, it was one of many gates that surrounded the old town, it...More

O Quan Chuong is the only remaining gate of the old city wall built in the eighteenth century, the gate is not particularly high, constructed in brick, it is the single storey with three arched gateways and a watch tower on the top. The gate...More

The old city gate in Hanoi is definitely worth appreciating for a few moments, it’s just unfortunate that the city has not taken better care of this important structure.

Still in good condition. Only saw it because it was very close to the hotel I was staying at. Didn't know it's historical value until I read on trip advisor!. Pity the place is so trashy. They could've place a sign or a plaque..
