Restored merchant's house from the 19th century, now a museum. Traditional architecture of the Old Quarter, narrow front and a succession of rooms behind it. The courtyard in the middle for light and ventilation, thereafter the kitchen and the bathroom, the living area upstairs. Interesting...More

Over 100 years of history. Always a treat to step back in time to see how families lived. Interesting hole in the ground toilet and shower system that looked like an oven. Surprised that beds did not have mattresses.

Blink and you'll miss it! Nessled beside a couple of shops sits this little gem. Well worth the visit to get a feel of how Vietnamese houses once were like. Good information in English. No need to book.

was my impression of this building. Per normal Hanoi building style, the house was narrow and long. The skylight bathed the indoor courtyand and kitchen area in sunshine; it's a cozy place to enjoy tea and chat with others. The yellow walls gave a touch...More

This is one of if not the oldest house in Hanoi and gives an insight into how life was. Nice way to spend an hour or so observing the history and culture.
