Don't forget to stop by VNP's front office before you start here. The park rangers are really helpful in guiding you. There are plenty of small trails/lookouts/scenic spots along the way so the rangers help you pick and choose if you have limited time. The...More

This is one of the most beautiful drives with lots of opportunities to stop for scenic lookouts. So much to see and do along the way, lava, craters, petroglyphs, hiking, and at the very end is the holei sea arch. It’s a must drive when...More

I cannot use too many adjectives to describe what we saw as we traveled this road. Majestic, sobering, unimaginable, other worldly, sweeping views, a feat of engineering, vast... none of these overstates the amazing landscapes you will see on this drive. From lava flows frozen...More

Our Roberts Hawaii tour stopped at the Lua Manu crater on Chain of Craters Road. We walked around on the surrounding lava fields, marveling at the plants growing right up out of the rocks and taking photos by interesting formations. It was one of 4...More

We were unsure what to expect but were surprised by the views. We parked at the lot where you can no longer drive because of the damage done by the last eruption. The walk from there was worth it. We saw a family of Nene...More
