Never been to this museum of the smithsonian but loved it. Line to get in was long due to a significant lack of security stations open but still worth the wait. Really enjoyed exhibits showing the history of the US. Museum is just another testament...More

Pros: we really enjoyed the first floor of this museum, especially the section on American Enterprise. The Star Spangled Banner was neat too. Cons: we waited about 30 minutes outside to get through security, and some areas of the museum seemed like they could use...More

We went to this museum after being disappointed that the air and space museum was under construction so a lot of the exhibits could not be seen. We were pleasantly surprised to find out how large this museum was. Our kids (6 & 9) really...More

Great displays and some interactive. We played Price as Right game for the 1800's. Fun seeing cost of living back then. Another cold museum though so dress warmly. It was hot outside but really cold inside all museums in DC.

The museum was good but seemed more on American culture, technology, rather than history. Really didn't explained much about each first lady. Just showed their dresses. the Star Spangled Banner was good to see and presented well. Restrooms were not always easy to find. Family...More

We have visited the museum before this was our third visit and was returning to see the exhibit of the star spangled banner finally completed as we have seen it through all its stages. A great exhibit, however it was marred by the lazy staff...More

What a cool place, to me by far the coolest thing is the American flag that inspired our national anthem. Expect to spend several hours here.

We actually went to see a couple of specific items, which we never found however we were very pleasantly surprised to see an amazing exhibition of transportation, highly interactive and engaging for teens. There were whole trains and excellent exhibits. Then we went around and...More

You should prioritize at least two hours. Like many museums, there are key pieces you will WANT to see, such as the iconic top hat Lincoln was wearing the night he was assassinated. There is really something for... More
