After walking down Gedimino prospektas, our first real look of Lithuania’s capital was of its Cathedral Square. Terrific open area with many attractions and opportunities for photographs. We took time to go up the Bell Tower and view the plaza from a higher vantage point....More

A place to spot some of Vilnius attractions (Cathedral and its bell tower, the monument to Gediminas) and to start discovering others (Gediminas tower, the 3 crosses hill, the old town). Also, a meeting point and a place where all sorts of gatherings take place.

This is the #1 landmark in Vilnius, which is also the center of activities in old town Vilnius. There is a big cathedral, a bell tower, and a museum adjacent to it. You can't miss this.

I found it charming. It's very white. Popular meeting place and full of guided tours. Can not miss it, if you do old town walk.

It's a huge and open square in the center of Vilnius. There are many interesting attractions in the vicinity and this is a good place to start from. Otherwise, I would say it's nothing special.

This is a good starting place as it is in the centre of the old city. The cathedral itself is stunning outside but rather plain inside. The bell tower is a must

Apparently they represent where the first person in the Baltic Chain of Freedom stood in 1989... some 2 million people eventually joined hands to demonstrate for independence from USSR.
