Our walk started at the southend parking lot and went up wards to the cliff level. Once on the cliffs there are regularly viewpoint and benches to take a rest and enjoy the view over the coast and inland landscape. There are lots of birds...More

A must trek, nature in the full sense. Full of animals and life. You will enjoy the walk despite of the wind. Careful with the seals! Respect the distance.

We spent several hours here. We enjoyed the lovely views and even had the good fortune of seeing a whale jumping while we were there. We did not see any seals in the seal colony area though. The climb to the top of the lookout...More

This is a nice walk where one can view the bay and also see the snow capped mountains in the distance. The beach is more of a pebbles and black sand beach and in September it was still quiet cool, not really suitable for swimming....More

Had a good afternoon walking from the Esplanade around Keane Point and on to South Bay, then over the hill back to the Esplanade. About 13km. Cool walk and a chance to see the seals from the cliffs.

A lovely walk along the top and you can access a lot of the shore but check the tide as there is one spot that is tricky at high tide near the carpark. Some parts of the top track are a little muddy underfoot after...More

This was a really enjoyable walk. Took us about 3 hours - we went nearly all the way across the tp then cut down to the beach via a stepped walkway, and came back along the water edge getting a chance to observe the seals...More

Sorry, no idea about the walk. About staying in the area, they were repairing from earthquake damage so should be done now, but we saw some lovely places that we drove by.
