This beach happens to be my all-time favorite beach to go to. Every time I go here I usually see windsurfers out on the waters, people walking their dogs, kids on the playground and beautiful beachside houses along the beach. There are swings along the...More
Takapuna Beach is a brilliant spot the spend with friends. I visited friends in Auckland in late 2018 and they took me to this beach and we had a great afternoon. Lots of local cafes to grab a bite to eat and shops to explore...More

Takapuna Beach is great for families as there is a great playground in the reserve behind the beach plus it is close to shops. Parking is a challenge though. A level sandy beach with lots of activity going on.

There are all sorts of water activities throughout the week, a great children's playground, a grassy beach-front reserve and dining and watering holes just over the road...More

Hi. You will find that all the East Coast Bays on the North Shore are quite similar. Takapuna, Devonport and the small village of Brown's Bay all have shopping and supermarkets so food items are always readily available. Great swimming in the bays and very safe. The best months are February March as most of the schools here have reopened for the new year, not so many people as most have returned to work and also the prices are lower and the weather is quite settled. Enjoy your vacation, I know you will love it here.
