A great Auckland city gallery with international exhibitions. Guerrilla Girls Art Movement is thought provoking and appropriate. Fortunately this Gallery is very supportive of woman artists. A pleasant place to spend solo or with friends and family. Something special to view each month for everyone.

Well set out. A lot of modern art. Nice cafe. Locals get in free- foreign visitors have to pay so it is expensive.

Admission is free if you are an Auckland resident and $20 if not. We went to see the McCahon special exhibit. It was interesting but we LOVED the Guerrilla Girls Exhibit, putting the “F” back in feminism. Another highlight is the cardboard and plywood Pillars....More

There is a gallery of older style paintings that you see in English art galleries but generally focuses on modern and Maori art

The museum has a wider collection - many rare "historical/heritage" works of art pertaining to New Zealand
