We enjoyed this gallery, but I must admit it was surprisingly small and I left thinking it was on a par with some of the smaller art galleries in Washington (or even Pittsburgh, for that matter). But I am certainly no expert in the fine...More
I visit the Art Gallery of NSW once or maybe more often each year when in Sydney, most often for the Archibald or special exhibitions.
In September this year I decided to just see the Indigenous art and began with an excellent volunteer guided tour...More
I'm not one for an art museum, but the Art Gallery of NWS was a delight. We stopped by during a walk through Sydney and weren't disappointed. They have some great Aboriginal Art that you don't see in other countries (unfortunately) along with all the...More
Privileged to be in Sydney to view the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman exhibitions at the Art Gallery. An absolute treat were the Young Archie display of art work from budding artists aged 5-18. A must see, loved it!

The only thing lacking was that I only had 4 hours to spare and needed at least double that to do justice to the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prize exhibits.

Our family went here to see the Archibald exhibits. The gallery is set in a beautiful, picturesque park and is well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful and the shop is always worth a visit. Recommended.
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens
or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
