This monastery is exactly what I imagined a Buddhist monastery to look like. Friendly people and god food. Definitely worth a visit if in the region.

A beautiful old monastery, a little remote, and overlooking spectacular scenery. The snow-capped mountains overlook a rugged landscape, resembling a moonscape. A heavenly experience travelling alone with the local Ladakhi people

Lamayuru is my favorite monastery. It is so beautiful place located at the top of the cliff with the village and the mountains around. Best time at sunset.

The monastery is big & one can find many antique paintings on the walls! One also gets a picturesque view of Lamayuru from the monastery. Must visit place.
