Better to do if you are coming from sriNagar. Its probably not worth doing almost a day trip from LEH. Other Day trips are better.

The drive from Leh to Lamayuru is very scenic. The road is very smooth and the landscape keeps changing on every turn. The moon landscape is very unusual. The monastery is also worth stopping at.
