There are quite number of places to explore and you can get the information in the internet or in Minca. The area is not always accessible to cars and sometime the only way to reach some places is by trekking or taking motorbykes.

My son, who is English, owns La Fuente b&b just outside Minca. He is a survival expert and teaches Bushcraft and Jungle survival. He had just been awarded Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2017. If your daughter is still in Santa Marta area and wants to experience life safely in the mountains try La Fuente Minca. It is a beautiful place, I spent 3 weeks there.
