Did not have much time to see the whole exhibit but was interested to see the real raft. Wish we had had more time to explore the whole museum.

Nice to see the construction and how a theory was put into use. The view from underneath is more striking that the balsa wood boat. There is also a boat made of reids that is more impressive. Nice portrayal of the drift from Peru...

Fascinating museum. Not a large museum but fascinating to see the original raft that was used and learn more about the history of the other voyages.

This was a great, well presented museum dedicated to Thor Heyerdahl and companions with their mad adventure on the Kon Tiki and then Ra. We found the explanations easy to follow and informative. Interestingly, this wasn't hero worship, but a great look at the people...More

I read the books at school and was very interested to see the original rafts. We visited on the Oslo card after the Fram museum. Kon-Tiki takes less time and we spent 40 minutes right up to closing time before getting te ferry back.

Was in and out in 20 minutes - if you are a Kon-Tiki fan then it may please you but after seeing the raft there is little to sustain interest.

Hello all, the museum exhibits the original raft from 1947. The mast broke and the hut was smashed upon crashlanding on the Raroia attoll after 101 days at sea. Islanders helped get the raft safe on land. After some... More
