This place is just on the opposite side of Beethoven's former residence. The architect of the townhall was apparently educated in England and the influence shows.

Unfortunately the Rathaus was undergoing renovation when we were there, so some of the front facade was covered with scaffolding and advertising - but still a great view from the area/road looking back at the Rathaus.

There was a film festival going on, with movies being shown on a screen hanging on the front of the Rathaus, or City Hall, as well as a food court set up in the platz. Watching Baryshnikov dancing while eating Indian curry was great.
