How many hundreds of thousands of people pass through this station and never notice the history in front of their eyes. You will find a full strata of what was found during excavation for the metro, with ancient burials etc. In addition you will see...More

We used the station as a passage from one side of the busy street to the other. A friend had mentioned to us to walk the perimeter of the upper level of the station because of the displays there. We did, and were fascinated to...More

As previously mentioned, keep your phones under lock and key when riding the metro. Not only was my iPhone stolen by pick pocket, this organized group is so hi-tech they sent a phishing text 48 hours later directing to a site which permits the phone...More

We only went to the square to watch the changing of the guards on the hour. I would advise arriving much earlier than you expect if you’re coming from the touristic center because it takes a lot of navigating to cross the streets and end...More

WE bought metro tickets, and the seller was very polite. Later, we got a little bit lost (this is a big station), so we asked the policemen for help, and they were also very polite and helpful

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is
Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament
building on its upper side and surrounded by other
large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande
Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia
are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like
the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia
