Great original piece of the old city walls of Porto still intact. Would have loved to get up close and personal. Pointed out the staircase up the inner side of the walls to my wife who is scared of heights, it is just a series...More

The Muralhas are open right now and there are many fascinating walks up and down from the Douro River. They are well worth checking out both for historical and for aesthetic reasons!

The walk alone the route of the stretch of wall is beautiful in parts due to the stunning view of the river. The history of this 14th Century wall can be found along the way, with shield shaped info points. Well worth the effort.
