We visited the tourist information centre to get the start time of the Corpus Christi service at the cathedral. This is a huge event in Madeira, it is public holiday and hundreds of people come to the centre of town to see the parade and...More
This was an 'exploratory' visit to return, possibly, for a walking holiday. Unfortunately the weather was not kind.
I was surprised that the Tourist Office didn't accept credit card payment for the hop-on/Hop-off tour. Otherwise, very helpful despite pressure from pushy tourists complaining that there...More
The office provided tickets to seating for the Carnaval parade, and some useful maps. The information to take with you was a little sparse, but the attendants were very well informed, and fluent in English.

Agree with other reviews. Staff are disinterested. It appears to be a problem that visitors come in and ask questions. No answers to questions. If wanting bus information you can get online or on the promenade where the buses stop. Bus companies very helpful.
