At first I thought this was just a modern boat landing or dock, then discovered it has a much more serious intention. It is subtle, maybe too subtle but if you walk this way do check it out.

The Dutch have always been known as a progressive and forward-moving people. In this respect, I think that the establishment of the Homomonument demonstrates this lean towards progressivism more clearly than most. I say this because we have to recognize that plans were set in...More

Worth a visit if you're passing, it is located by the Anne Frank house, but easy to miss if you're not sure what you're looking for. It is a good spot to take a moment to thank those who have come before and fought for...More

You'd never know this was a monument unless you walked right up to it. From the bridge it just looked like some step to a jetty on the canal.

I loved the idea to have a monument dedicated to homosexuality but it was not much of a sight. You can easily miss it.

I read reviews of people being underwhelmed by the monument so I thought I'd go and see.  I've seen the Manneken Pis in Brussel's and Copenhagen's mermaid - it can't whelm me less than those surely?   Well it didn't but the reviewers have a...More

I expected more from monuments designed to commemorate those ridiculed and maltreated because of their sexuality. Clearly acts as more of a meeting place, a sit down for something to eat / drink. The larger triangle certainly attracts passers-by and you do have some views...More

Sorry but really. Not worth the time to visit this and could not really see the point - no pun included. Not my thing - sorry.
