It being only on during winter period made it difficult to attend but was beautiful if you can stand the cold.

Very pretty and enjoyed it howeverif you can walk it instead then do. We spent the entire boat trip de-fogging the window. We went around Christmas so it was also cold.

We prefered walking and enjoying the lights better then the boat tour! We have to small kids and kids talk, play and laugh... and cry! We were asked to keep them quiet more than once. Not really kids friendly. If you have kids, better enjoy...More

The light installations were pretty but they are best seen by an open boat tour and with it being deep winter the air is cold and of course being Amsterdam there is a chance of light rain which just makes it even colder. If you...More

So annoyed! We were expecting many lights.. We went around Christmas time! It wasn't explained to us there were about 8 different "artworks of lights" which took about 1hour at such slow speeds on our boat. It was so boring and such a waste of...More

This is a brilliant show with lights hidden in places you would not think to look. Although this festival seems to be all about getting people onto canal cruises, we decided to walk (with many others) and found the lights were fantastic. Save the canal...More

A canal cruise is the perfect way to experience the Amsterdam Light Festival, with the added bonus that commentary includes interesting detail about the city and its history as well, for instance, the reason why buildings are built leaning towards the canals. Each exhibit in...More

I came to Amsterdam expecting much more. There are more light in my hometown during Christmas than in here. It was nice to see, but don’t expect too much.

Having seen a bunch of photos of the light festival, I'd been looking forward to it as the main attraction in our time in Amsterdam. However I think I've been spoilt by the Sydney Vivid festival we have every year, which is far more spectacular...More

I don't want to write too long, so that people can read immediately that this tour is really boring. The first issue regards the chance to see well, because che front of the boat covers everything, so I was forced to lean from the side...More

Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of
tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists
and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the
best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe.
Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops
of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones
Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods
such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring
