We stopped in on a Friday morning during a walking tour of Lucerne and found the church open. Our guide talked briefly about the history of the church while we were outside and then ushered us inside informing us that non-flash photos were allowed. It...More

I went to Jesuit schools and was interested in seeing the Jesuitenkirche on my visit to Lucerne. I could see it from my hotel room and visited on a Sunday when Mass was being celebrated. I'm no longer a practicing Catholic but enjoyed the service...More

Light and bright with lots of red marble and gilt, but a tastefully presented sacred environment. At least eight Beautiful little side chapels too.

This is the more formal of the two big Churches here (the other being the Franciscan Church), and Baroque instead of Medieval. This is an area of Switzerland that has stayed strongly Catholic over the years, and this is a monument to their faith.

A great church, very original in an almost-rococo style, this being the fruit of very special historical reasons between Catholicisme and Protestantism. Easily one of the most beautiful churches (inside) in Lucern.

Just make it a point to take a minute and stop in, it’s beautiful and interesting . First major Baroque church in Switzerland, circa 1670

The outside draws people into the inside. Once inside, it is awe inspiring. Ornate would be a mild description of the inside.
