Classic main drag of a historic city center. Still crowded and populated by shops. If you visit Siena you will walk up and down this street (by this name or by the other names it gets as it extends away from the Campo).
The streets of the historic centre of Siena have no pavements so everyone much watch out for cars and bikes. The Via di Citta curls around behind the Piazza di Campo and then continues on - lots of nice shops, restaurants etc
This is one of the main streets in the Old Town, going uphill from Piazza del Campo.
There are many lovely buildings to admire such as Palazzo Chigi-Saracini, also smaller squares & alleyways that branch off, as well as shops & restaurants.

Via di Citta represents the essence of the medieval Siena. The ground floor shops and restaurants spoil its medieval look somewhat though. It starts at Piazza Di Postierla, curves halfway around Il Campo and splits into Via Branchi di Sopra and Branchi di Sotto.
