Beautiful exterior. Huge but otherwise unremarkable interior. If you are trying to see other sites, skip the Cathedral's interior. Do take 15 minutes to view the exterior. Stand back from it so you can really appreciate it.

We have seen many magnificent Cathedrals in our time so we find it hard to get too excited about any of them. Never-the-less this is quite impressive and worth a visit if you are in the vicinity. The plaza in front of the Cathedral and...More

This is a lovely cathedral that almost springs out of the streets surrounding it. There is plenty to see inside whether you want sights or just some peaceful contemplation. There is an extra free to see the tombs of sovereigns, I didn't go in so...More

After going to teatro massimo headed to the cathedral. Located not too far from teatro it is in a pedestrian area and you can walk the steps to get a spectacular view of the city from there.

Besides the usual display of catholic art, the church presents on its floor an artistic result of an interesting astronomic experiment.

We of course had to visit ! Palermo is a beautiful place and the cathedral is a must. Beautiful inside as well as outside. The tower tour to the roof is a timed ticket so best to enquire for this when you first go in....More

Very impressive cathedrals with quite a few different aspects. The main cathedral with the usual spectacular interior, a small museum, a crypt and the option of a walk on the roof to get fantastic views of the cathedral from another angle and of the city....More
