Everyday that I am in Verona I cant resist the walk to the top of the hill on which this church resides. The walk takes about 25-30 minutes from Piazza della Erbe over Ponte Pietra and up the hill. It is through a narrow path...More

As soon as we arrived in town we went to the top of a hill overlooking the city to visit this stunning sanctuary to the Lady of Lourdes. The windows were particularly beautiful especially the one over the altar which was plate glass with a...More

This hilltop Sanctuary dedicated to the “Madonna of Lourdes” is actually a 1909 conversion of the 1838 fortress designed by Franz Von Scholl by will of Joseph Radetzky, general field marshal of the Austrian Empire; originally 6 cannons and +150 soldiers were serving here on...More

It is a bit to walk from the parking, down to the terrace which is a good spot for photography. Still, the most interesting fact about this church I found when I came home, and sorry that I missed. This place was an Austrian fortress...More

I thought the view from the Castel San Pietro was magnificent until getting a ride up to this blue-domed church on another hill even higher above the city of Verona. Truly spectacular view of the river, bridges, gardens, churches and towers!

This beautiful church is on top of a hill in Verona so unless you drive walking is the only way up I believe. It is definitely worth it when you reach the top however as the views are just stunning. The actual church itself inside...More

One of the best vantage points to view Verona. At the same time a quiet sanctuary for recollection or veneration. This is helped by the somewhat impeded access - the narrow road to it is quite steep and arduous. However, for the spiritual quest and...More

The position of this church is breathtaking! It would be impossible to walk here from Verona as it is accessed via very windy and twisty roads. The journey is well worth the trek.
