The square is a local meeting place along the main shopping and cafe street. If you go to the top of the tower for a couple Euros you can see all over the town and beyond.

There are a lot of shops and a market in the area. Duomo of Modena is also there. The street are cobblestone with some smooth areas for walking and biking. Center of town.

This is the main piazza in Modena. The Duomo and Ghialardina are next to it. The piazza is not very big. It is very similar to piazzas in other Italian cities. It is a square with cafes and restaurants that are overpriced and mainly for...More

Great place to hang out and people watch. There's a very expensive and crowded restaurant on the piazza, but it was more fun watching the people. This is a gathering place for locals on Saturdays.

The Piazza Grande is astonishing. Definitely worth paying a visit and taking some photos. I would recommend wearing comfortable shoes, since the pavement is rather inappropriate for high heels.

The buildings that surround this piazza are gorgeous. Nice people walking and a good stop en route to Mercato Albinelli or if you're planning to check out the Duomo.

We strolled through the piazza on our way to dinner. Many people were enjoying drinks at cafes. The architecture around the piazza is interesting.

Attractive square surrounded by architecturally beautiful buildings but the cathedral is without doubt the star of the show. A number of cafes offer refreshment or an opportunity to watch the world go by. Not to be missed during a visit to Modena.

The old buildings are very beautiful to look at. Special large stone on the square, one thousand years old, from top of it the town management has spoken in the past. The buildings are from the 1100's.
