I made a quick visit to Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino) in August 2019. The Castel Nuovo is located near the Stazione Marittima (the cruise port). It is easy to find once you exit the cruise port. The Castel Nuovo itself is a nice photo opportunity....More

Was looking forward to exploring this imposing castle, but discovered upon arrival, that an English guided tour was only held at an hour not convenient to my schedule. Hope to come again one day to fully appreciate this wonderful architectural landmark of Naples. Apparently it...More

I liked a lot visiting this fort. It has the feel of ancient times. I could imagine the many events that unfolded in this place as the structure is so telling. There is also SUPERB balcony with SUPERB view of the entire bay. You must...More

It’s name is a misnomer. The New Castle is actually dated from the 13th century and was the seat of the Kings of Naples, Aragon and Spain until the early 19th century. The entrance is ornate but I decided against the guided tour.

We walked from the Port to the Castle. Not easy because the area is under construction. The Castle is very nice an the building is masiv.

Perhaps we should have taken the guided tour but the audio guide tour was disappointing. Poor sound quality with the rubbish ear phones and unreliable Bluetooth points meant we were quickly tired of this castle. Little info on the castle itself, more about the raft...More

My girlfriend and I visited the beautiful location. As a student of architecture I found it incredibly inspiring and interesting to see the different forms it has taken over the centuries. Sara R was our guide and was very charismatic, giving our tour in English...More

We paid €15 for an adult and a student tour with an English guide and loved every second! Our guide - Sara R - was especially lovely, and was very funny throughout! We spent a morning in this castle and we highly recommend it to...More

You can certainly take photos here; if you go to see the underground excavations you will benefit from a flash. Be aware though that this is a fort - there aren't the lavish interiors that you would expect to see in a... More
