The Parque del Oeste or Western Park is a park north east of the Royal Palace and quite a bit away from the main tourist circuit of Madrid. Which is a bit of a shame because it's a fantastic park. Probably the most famous and...More

Parque del Oeste is quite a large park with several nice features. It is only minutes away from everything. It is close enough to the Palacio Real de Madrid and other interesting sights. It has beautiful landscaped gardens, water features, and numerous trees and bushes....More

Apart from the short climb up some steps this makes for a flat stroll with good views over parts of the city. Unfortunately the Egyptian tomb was closed for renovations whist we were there.

After visiting the Royal Palace, we decided to hike to the Teleferico to ride the Gondola to Casa de Campo. This allowed us to traverse this park from one end to the other, as well as to have lunch (which is another review herein). This...More

This a lovely park within a reasonable walking distance of Palacio Real and Ermita da San Antonio de la Florida. Lots of grass, paths and massive old trees make for a lovely, relaxing park for a stroll. There is a large rose garden (rosaleda) in...More
