We had a fabulous experience at a Bruckner concert in the Grosser Saal, and the Konzerthaus Orchestra was wonderful! The acoustics in this room are amazing, the design is elegant and luxurious looking, and the experience is well worth the price of the tickets. We...More

The concert hall of Berlin is one of the fine buildings that dominate Gendarmenmarkt. The concert hall is a classically inspired building with a hexastyle column entrance supporting a pediment with scenes of classical drama. The hexastyle columns are also the entrance way into the...More

Beautiful architecture and lovely square! This was just a few minutes away from our hotel. so we walked over quite often. Lots of cafes and restaurants around too. We saw the youth symphony inside. The inside was exquisite and beautifully done.

The Konzerhaus is located on Gendarmenmarkt between the German and French Doms. The square is a great public venue. In fact while we were there you could not totally see the building as Berlin appeared to be readying for an outdoor music festival. Good building...More

Most people come to hear the orchestra/attend a concert. Walked by and around it to see the structure and admire the details. Fine to walk by and snap pics, and others indicated the concerts inside were good too.

Centrally located near the Hilton, the Holocaust Memorial & the U.S. embassy, this building has been exquistly reconstructed. It has amazing acoustics & very good sight-lines. Strongly suggest a visit to see one of the top smaller concert halls in the wrld.

We showed up literally 5 mins before our performance and walked straight up to our seats. Photos and videos were ok, as long as no flash.

In my opinion it depends on the type of the event or concert. Generally the audience is actually quite casually dressed.
