A charming corner of Lyon, with interesting winding old streets and former silk workers houses (now privately owned). Some great restaurants here.

Even tho we were using a fairly recent guide book we had great difficulty finding places of interest in Croix-Rousse... The red Tourist tram (which is a once only round-trip, not a hop-on & off deal!) will give you some interesting information about the Silk...More

This is the working hill in Lyon. It was the former Residence of the Canuts (Silk Weavers) in the 18th and 19th centuries. It contains many older architectural buildings which are interesting, The greatest find of this area is the wall murals (Mur de Canuts)...More

We trekked up the hill to check out the open air street markets and they were fabulous, well priced and excellent fresh produce.. do it!!!

A pleasant suburb up a steep hill. easily reached by bus or metro . Independant shops and some good restaurants and bars away from central Lyon. Lots of silk weaving history

Hilly but I love that. Good commerce and cafes and restaurants just below Croix Rousse also. Quirky neighbourhood. Great boulangeries!!! Goood transport links.

Wonderful area and park. The whole area is full of awesome small vendors, and restaurants. So many small street to noodle around, and adventures to be had!

Hi! Yes there is a very good Atelier/museum, but be aware the tours are only in French! Get address and more info from the tourist office, or on the net. Enjoy!
