Stroll with confidence down this lovely walk way. 3 fountains add to the picture perfect setting. Lots of places to eat and we did several.

This marvellous avenue has a market on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday...Marvellous architecture and great places to eat and have cocktails all with Good King Renee looking over you!

With such shiny cobblestones and being so spacious, you very much get the sense that this is the Paris of Provence. Prices of the cafes/restaurants along here reflect that, but it is a lovely street to walk down and watch everything happen around you. There...More

It was near the Christmas season when we had a chance to stroll along Cours Mirabeau. This is the main pedestrian promenade which is visited by tourists. We had a chance to see the locals selling their stuff in the street market. The place is...More

Great place for people watching. I would tend to eat somewhere else though! The great looking restaurants obviously were designed for the tourist so the food was not so hot.

To get a tastes of Aix, walk down Cours Mirabeau and stop at a cafe and watch the people go by. Then walk down one of the intersecting streets on the north side and wander for an hour or two. Put one of the nearby...More

This is the main and pedestrian street of the city. You cannot miss it. The cafés are overpriced but this is the case in general for Aix. Still worth if you want to relax in the sun and practice some people watching.

This grand boulevard is a gorgeous street that divides the renaissance and medieval parts of Aix. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays it is bustling with clothing and fabric stalls. When the market is not there, it's a beautiful street to walk and dine. Be sure...More

The centre of the city, full of restaurants on one side and mixed use historic buildings on the other side. One of the many sites where market days are held and lovely for an evening walk. I love it.

This street is the "main drag" in Aix. Lots of restaurants and lots of people watching. Keep in mind this is a tourist central attraction. Have a drink there, but choose a quiet restaurant off the beaten path for dinner.

We very much enjoyed the Hotel Cézanne about five minutes walk from the Cours. It’s also close to the local commuter rail station to Marseille should you want to go there.
