This may be the geographic center of Paris. All of the Metro and suburban train lines come together here. Several major boulevards converge. It's classic 19th Century design with fountains, a small park, and 2 big theaters.

This is a nice little square we stumbled upon before crossing the Seine to visit the burnt Notre Dame cathedral. The square features a nice column with an Egyptian-looking fountain.

This may be one of the absolute centers of the city, so it is very busy, lots of traffic and lots of people. Some big grand theaters are here, but otherwise this area does not have a lot of character. A bit polluted.

One of the centers of the 19th Century urban renewal, now a big square with a fountain surrounded by theaters. Lots of traffic. Also big Metro change point. One of the centers.

Found this piazza while walking in the Latin Quarter section of Paris, walking towards the Picasso Museum.. Once I noticed it, had to stop and take some pictures.. Plus, the weather was wonderful..

The Place du Chatelet is a small square in Paris that has a great fountain. The 1808 fountain has two sphinxes that commerate Napoleon's victory in Egypt.
