I know this area well so I just wander. But for new visitors get a walking tour that will show you the best and explain the history which is dense and fascinating. Lots of mansions and museums, lots of food and coffee.

It's always good to branch out of the mainstream and get into various areas of Paris that speak of the people who live in these areas. Lovely stroll to get acquainted with the 4th Arr.

This is off the beaten track and worth a wander round the little streets and interesting buildings. The St Paul district is here and is particularly attractive

Love this Arrondissment. Mixed cultures, lots of attractions, parks, etc. and plenty of dining experiences.

This district is full of historic buildings and several important museums, plus lots of high end shopping. Can be very full of tourists.

Located on the right bank of the Seine it hosts Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, city hall and numerous parks and Place de la Bastille.

This area contains Paris's city hall ( hotel de ville) and Paris's oldest square; the historic and beautiful Place des Vosges. Also the Centre Georges Pompidou is located in this district.
