I have been to Paris many times but somehow never visited the Cluny Museum. My friends insisted that I must go! The Lady and Unicorn tapestries are just ravishing. If you are a textile nut, it might be your favorite thing you do in Paris....especially...More

I love Medieval art and I love all of the art in the Musee de Cluny. The sculptures and paintings are first rate and the Unicorn Tapestries are a wonder of the world. I've been to the old building twice in the past and it...More

Even though some of the museum was closed, we made a trip to the Cluny specifically to see the "Lady and the Unicorn" tapestries. We were not disappointed! The tapestries are easy to access so you can see up close the detailed work. The descriptions...More

This has always been one of my favorite places in Paris. Less like walking through a museum, and more like walking through the corridors of an old castle, that just happened to have artifacts on display. We just went today, and due to renovations the...More

The museum is undergoing a major renovation and large parts of it (Including the famous tapestries) were closed to visitors. There were some amazing medieval gold objects on display and we used our Paris Museum Pass so it wasn't a total loss, but I would...More

Most of the museum is closed for refurbishment but the tapestries alone are worth the small price of 5 euros. You should read up beforehand, or have support material with you, because I found the reading material and signage somewhat eccentric. Never mind that, the...More

There are limited exhibit rooms open but that is a plus because you can enter for free and see the Roman baths up close. There is also a small exhibit of liturgical Middle Age art. It is worth it to simply gain access to the...More

There is a small temporary exhibit of curious medieval lock boxes and the Lady of the Unicorn tapestries are on view, but the rest of this wonderful museum is closed for refurbishment until 2021. The entry fee is only 5 euros, so worth it just...More

A fairly small museum that is currently being enlarged. The tapestry collection is worth the visit. The area between the museum and the Seine is filled with interesting tourist stores and restaurants.

We had the bad luck finding museums where most of the exhibits were closed, and the Cluny was in our set. One room of art open - the tapestry that is the draw (Lady and the Unicorn) was not available. Some Roman bath excavations on...More

The museum does have an excellent gift shop but I don't know about the needlepoint. They did have a beautiful scarf depicting one of the tapestries but it was quite expensive. I believe they had some pillows as well.
