After a walk about the gardens and over the bridges we had a fascinating visit to the glasshouses followed by a light lunch in the tea rooms. Lovely soup and sandwich deal.

This is a lovely tranquil green space in the heart of a busy city, a great place to visit on a fine day. The gardens are pleasant to stroll around, but the most interesting and exotic plants are in the glasshouses.

We had a pleasant afternoon over there however we were a little disappointed after have stayed in Edinburgh and Inverness botanic gardens. Even Aberdeen's Duthie Park greenhouses were more beautiful.

The best way is via the underground station from Buchanan Street to Hillhead, and walk a short distance. There may well be a street map at the station.
