Castle Ward will take you on a journey of discovery. The 18th-century eccentric house with two distinctly different styles, classical and Gothic, will entice you to explore further. This truly beautiful 332-hectare (820-acre) walled demesne, with...more

We visited in November, so the house was closed, but we enjoyed a walk along the trail until we had to curtail it because of rain. The younger members of the party were keen to see the Game of Thrones locations, but we felt there...More
I visited Castle Ward mainly because of GOT and the Winterfell filming location. Entry into the grounds was overpriced for what you will actually see. The actual 'Winterfell' grounds are largely underwhelming. There are several other filming locations along the trail by the water around...More

Today at pumpkinfest was a disgrace. Beyond annoyed. Been going to castleward for years and although overpriced I feel and very little done over years to enhance the place we still go.

Went specifically to have a tour of the house. The lady who conducted the tour (I believe her name was Marian)was very knowledgable and made the tour extremely pleasant and interesting. Thoroughly recommend it to all ages. The views across Strangford Lough are absolutely stunning....More
We visited castle ward as part of our Game of Thrones tour. We enjoyed seeing the castle, and the grounds. It was interesting to see all of the CGI work that had been done on the show to make a castle ward look like Winterfell.
Gave 4/5 stars and not 5 because they closed the cafe unexpectedly when we were there around noon, and they told us due to high winds they’d be closing at 4pm instead of 5. We drove 3 hours to get there and wish those things...More
We had a wonderful trip to Castle Ward, visiting the site where Game of Thrones' 'Winterfell' was filmed.

It might be worth emailing them to see what you’ll see on the tour compared to what you’ve found online to see (at the very least, you can come at it from the direction of whether the cycle tour is worth it). You’ll probably have to pay to get on the grounds at least (we didn’t but we were there for the archery lesson). You could get a map at the archery check-in place of a bunch of GoT locations on the grounds, which we walked and enjoyed but I don’t know if that location is where the cycle tour is. I’m sure the benefit of the tour is having someone point locations out to you and talk about it.
