We booked a couple of nights in Windsor and thought it would be lovely to do a tour of Eton. The website said you could book tours but there were only on Friday at 12 and 2. We tried to book one of these but...More

We walked up to Eton and found it was closed to public. I walked to the arch to just take a photo of the square and clock, you would have thought I was breaking in to rob the place, security man flew out of office...More

Eton College is an absolutely fascinating site. Not only is it architecturally impressive, the history that you can learn about the school is vast. Would thoroughly recommend: The original King's Scholars classroom, The Jafar Hall and gallery and the College library of old books and...More

We walked from Windsor. Most of the shops along the high street appear to be closed for summer holidays. We walked as far as the college which was not open to the public. I managed to get a photo of the main entrance but was...More

Yes there are many tourists and foreign groups, but its all quietly establishment and totally fabulous. Notably the chapel with its highly painted organ. And some of the very best educators on the planet and a 15th century heritage. If you have to ask how...More

We booked a tour. Guide was very good; went into good details about college life and history. College is absolutely steeped in history. Although they are eager to show Eton is for bright kids, one still gets the overwhelming impression it's for the rich.

I had wanted to visit Eton college and they offer tours on Fridays. I booked months in advance knowing we will be in Windsor. It was great to visit and see the architecture from the 15th century. I learned a lot about the school and...More

I love the architectural parts of the college, and been lucky enough to do a full tour, it is thought provoking in how they have to maintain the modern with the old and most are listed buildings,

This historic place, a school where many of the most influential people studied, is really special. If you can book a tour if not just walk around the campus. It is very nice. You can combine it with a visit to Windsor.
