The museum provides great context to the Roman occupation of Britain. We bought the combined ticket with Vindolanda which worked well. Would recommend visiting the museum first.
Good combination of films and artefacts - very insightful experience.
Really enjoyed the museum. I think the stories told, illustrated by replicas of Roman military outfits and artifacts, were interesting for young and old. Very informative about the Roman history in the area and the UK, and the films gave some nice and sometimes funny...More
The museum is so full of facts, artefacts, stories and history. The use of multimedia to explain the military structure and might of the Romans is exceptional. You don't need to be interested in military history to enjoy this attraction just an inquisitive mind.
