Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, the Rideau Canal has something for everyone. Longest skating rink in the world in winter, boat tours of historic Ottawa in the summer and Fall. Truly a beautiful area for all.

Hard to believe this lovely tranquil place is in the centre of this lovely city. Spent several hours just chilling while watching boats being lifted through the canals. A lovely place to relax.

Great views and area to explore. Easy to access with trails all around. You can even walk across the canal! There are also informational signs to learn more about the history of them!!

Spent few hours strolling up and down the canal and lock. Watched a boat being lifted up the locks and it amazed my kids. Really enjoyed the experience.

We love it and come over and over again anyway along the canal - and love the walkways, boats and canal activity.

I am an engineer, so love and appreciate water works. Besides that, it was a beautiful sunny day, and a stroll up and down the Canal is a must!

Amazing sight to view. The mechanism of locks to maintain usage of the canals is an engineering wonder because each section is significantly higher or lower than the next.

The history is incredible of how and why this canal was built. So pleased that those who lost their lives on this project are recognized. Beautiful walking paths along canal

Every year we take a road trip to visit a number of the locks along the Rideau Canal. It is a great way to spend a fall or summer day. Take a picnic to enjoy in the shade by the canal and watch the boats...More

We were here on a beautiful fall day. The fall colors made it that much more spectacular to see this engineering feat. It is fascinating to see.

Hello! I am not a strong skater by any means and sat down to have snacks at the different stops along the way and it took about 2.5 hours to go 7.8km there then another 7.8km back! Definitely a fun day/afternoon activity... More
