I really enjoyed the Vancouver Art Gallery. The art work on display was very different to what I got used to seeing last summer in Europe, much more contemporary in style and format but I really enjoyed it and the two major exhibitions as well...More

Our experience reflects that of most of your reviewers from the past weeks (September and October 2019). We had been encouraged to go by the tourist literature on Vancouver but this gallery just did not measure up to similar institutions in Quebec and Toronto. It...More

I always escape 1-2 hours to visit art institutions and galleries after the work. In Vancouver the Art Gallery is presented the most emblematic museum of modern art. Impossible to see their collections and the 2 exhibition were so so. I really don’t advise to...More

The day I visited the exhibitions included an amazing collection of work. The two I loved the most were from Alberto Giacometti - A Line through Time, and from 21 different Indigenous artists - Transits and Returns. Transits and Returns explores dualities of realities and...More

Probably the least interesting Art Gallery we've been to in a major city. If not for the Giacometti exhibition I would have asked for my money back given that one floor was completely empty and being set up for a future exhibition. The attendants looked...More

We visited the Vancouver Art Gallery as there is an exhibition of tgevwork of Alberto Giacometti. We really enjoyed the way it was set up, including a British documentary which was played. We also liked the paintings of Emily Carr!

Great Giacometti show when I was here. Museum is small by NYC standards, 4 floors, but what's nice is you can see it all in a few hours. It looks like they have plans to expand to create a space for their permanent collection.

Good exhibition of Geocomitti's work but other than that disappointing. The gallery focuses on the work from 4 artists and at the time of our visit the top floor was virtually empty as it was being set up for an exhibition. Compared with other galleries...More

A super place to visit for both modern (Outstanding Giacometti) and contemporary (Vikky Alexander, Robert Rauschenberg). Emily Carr's brilliant landscapes always on view somewhere: right now imaginatively installed in rotunda area. Cool Gift Shop too with some editions by artists for sale. Really enjoyed my...More
