Finally made it! Was contemplating driving down here but glad we did! You can’t come to Crete and not see Elafonissi! It’s amazing! What makes it amazing is the fun you’ll have walking around the shallow pools, crystal clear waters and warm sand bars all...More

We traveled 1 hour and thirty minutes along very unsafe cliff roads to see this beach! Honestly it was very big but nothing special and definitely not worth the terrible roads with no safety barriers 🙈

The drive to Elafonissi from Chania was rugged at times, with single-lane roads and some drop-offs with steep cliffs, but very fun and adventurous. The drive varies between mountain roads, cliffs, tunnels, and small villages. The beach has beautifully-clear water, with (of course) pink sand....More

It is a bit of a harrowing drive in, but not impossible, just take your time. But once you are there you'll be treated to a huge beach with calm, clean water, pink sand, decent amenities and plenty of parking. We were there in October...More
