I love Isla Mujeres. It is a beautiful place to visit. Lovely beaches, great shopping, wonderful food. The people on the island are very friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel right at home.

It is impossible to experience Isla Mujeres without walking El Centro. Great shops, restaurants and of course the people! Everyone has something to show you, sell you, or direct you to. It's just one of the many faces of the beautiful island.

Talking a walk in El Centro is an enjoyable activity for all. After a meal, see a sunset on Av. Rueda Medina and stop at one of the bars to get a cold one. You can also stop at the convenience store and get your...More

We love El Centro. There’s lots of shops, restaurants and street vendors. Treat yourself to a crepe or churro. It was very quiet in September so the vendors were pretty relentless. But still so fun!!

We bought so many things there! It is nice to walk, there are many restaurants and nice tiny stores. Seems to be very safe!

It was a bit crowded, a lot of street traffic. we rented the golf carts to tour the city but we kept getting honked by the cars to move out the way.

We drove around in a rented golf cart along with a lot of others and enjoyed the sights and stores and food drinks and the people were so generous

Just the typical city center with store owners or employees are trying to lure you in to by stuff, same like in any other port. Ok process for jewelry but not much bargains.

The center of the tourist trade, vendors try to lure you into their shops, not always politely. One young man said to me as I was passing by, (only half jesting, I expect, “come in and let me clean out your wallet!”) Many of the...More

Spent a day on Isla Mujeres, rented a golf cart and travelled the south end. Walked around the main part of town, lots of vendors vying for your attention! Can be annoying, but it's the culture, just smile, say no thanks and keep walking.

There is a small market in Centro and I’ve seen another bunch of stalls at the south end. The market is quite limited depending on the day. The Chedraui is not far from Centro.

Get pesos, you will save significantly. Also refrain from using credit cards, I had two different cards compromised while on Isla this last November.
