This was one of the stops on my Bonaire tour. It is a beautiful lake, however, the history behind the area is deplorable. slaves were brought there to mine the salt flats and they were treated horribly. I did learn that the lake is pink due to the salt rich bacteria there.

Our tour guide took us to visit the salt flats. Very cool place with a sad history of slavery. Got a chunk of salt here.
