A beautiful reef with a large variety of marine life. Take care as it’s quite shallow in some areas at low tide. If you love to snorkel it’s well worth a visit. I would recommend staying a couple of nights at the only resort on...More
We hired a local boat to get out there (1500 pesos for 4 of us) and it’s a half-hour ride to the island.
The boat waited for us and looked after our bags etc while we went with a compulsory guide (500 per person) for...More
We did it but it was a mistake. Reef is dead, there was one turtle which was pushed and touch by one of the boat guide so Chinese tourists would be satisfied. Horrible! Water was dirty and dark. Virgin island was nice but again full...More
Our experience was not so great given the fact that were a lot of dead corals and only tiny fish around. Must be from overfisihing around the island. However, we did see some turtles which made up for the sad reality we saw. The canteens/stores...More
Great snorkelling for all abilities. So many turtles and varieties of fish and coral. They don't allow you to swim from the shore even though you could and they charge 250 pesos for each section you snorkel in, but in a way I can understand...More

This is one of the places that was included in the Panglao Island Hopping Tour
When we came here we where immediately told that we need to pay for the following
100/pax - environmental fee (we are aware of this)
150/pax - small boat fee...More
If you’ve been snorkeling before this is not the place for you. Imagine 50 tourists in the water, banka boats right by your head and guides yelling “ look turtle”. What? A turtle?!?! One? Then all 50 tourists chasing down this one turtle?!?!
This was the third time I've done the Balicasag Island trip. The snorkeling was very good. But our boat operator left, possibly to see his girlfriend elsewhere on the island. We got horribly bored waiting at the so-called restaurant. I wouldn't eat anything there; as other...More

Hi, it's probably easier to be at Alona Beach, go to the beach front and look for 'Bohol Divers Club' for their daily trips to Balicasag Island. Done this before with no advance booking online.

Once you arrived at the Balicasag island they would offer you to have a local to boat you to where you wanna go (turtle or fish sanctuary) I think the cost would be around 250php per head and additional 150 for snorkling. I just dont remember if the snorkling gear was included in the package we bought from the hostel. We actually asked the owner of the hostel we stayed at to fix it for us. You may wanna ask your hotel to arrange it for you but I think it will cost you more especially if you are staying in one of those high-end hotels in Panglao. I asked someone who stayed at South Palms Beach resort and I was told the tour they offer was 29k php whereas the one they found somewhere in alona beach was 1800php. The tour we package we bought was around 500-750php per head. If you want I can give you the number of the hostel where I stayed who arranged the tour for us.
Hope you enjoy Bohol :)
