There's not much new I can add to the many good reviews here. We really enjoyed seeing this hermitage. It is beautiful to view from afar, and to see up close. And amazing to think of all of the people who have traveled out there...More

We drove from Bilbao, leaving fairly early in the morning - this gave us two advantages, there was limited crowds and we obtained a car park. I believe this place would get very busy by midday and there appeared to be limited parking. It is...More

In order to get there from Bilbao you need to take a bus to Bakio (A3518 - get off at final stop). Be aware at the weekends the bus runs every 2 hours. Then ideally you should take a taxi from Bakio to get to...More

We went to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe on Sep. 14. I had made a reservation for 3;30pm but we arrived earlier and it was not a problem to enter. It is recommended to book your entry before (free of charge) but you can also get...More

We went here on the Monday at the 8:30 by bus A3518 (departs in front of Deutche bank in centre of Bilbao) to the last stop, named San Pelaio. The drive lasts 45 minutes and then you have to walk for another 3 km to...More

Must see when you are in Basque country. You have to book online if you visit before 7pm - it is free. Me and my friend arrived at 8pm. You have to walk around 30 min to the steps and if you want to go...More

Great walk, it is however physically challenging. I did the walk in 1 45 mins but I was pushing it. Interesting history as a site for Game of Thrones filming.

Hi, I should think it may be difficult on the upward sections there and back. There are guide rails however on most bits. You could just do the first section with some nice and then turn back.
