It was a hot walk through the moonscape of Isalo, but the dip in the hidden pool was worth it. Walk down the track to the natural pool fed with a cascade and fringed with vegetation. Wonderful!

We had two days doing doing walks in the park. In both days we had swimming in the various pools that are along the main routes. Really refreshing after a warm hike. Landscapes are great and the guide can find interesting animals and explain plants....More

This is a nice park although not one you'd call spectacular. We did the hike to the large pool where you could swim and had lunch at the camp site. There were some wildlife although not abundant along the way - lizards, birds, bugs, and...More

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this park, and can see why it is so popular. The setting is stunning, and the walks are incredible. I did both the Piscine Naturelle and Namaza hikes, combining the two. When we got to the Namaza campsite, where ringtail...More

We came to Madagascar in search of lemurs and found them in abundance in Isalo National Park. Our guide, Dolphin, was really the best guide we had during our time in Madagascar – no additional ‘animal spotter’ needed, Dolphin knew everything we needed to know...More

The park covers an area of 81,540 ha, comprising of the entire stretch of the Isalo massif. The huge mountain is very spectacular with its eroded sandstone elevations. It was fun to hike to the natural swimming pool in the Park.

It is a prety park. We did the short hike since we were not interested in walking through the Savannah. We had seen enough of that on our long drive. The blue pool was not blue. It looked as dark as the black pool. We...More

The trek into the park was relatively easy as the guide took great care leading us over the slippery boulders, hugging the cliff wall and wading across the muddy plains, all the time leaving enough time for us to ask questions, take photos and marvel...More

Nice and not difficult walks - very nice views, waterfalls and lemurs. Really a lot of places to walk around. Do to miss it.

We did the long walk, which gives great views and a lot of varied landscapes, rocks, dry plains and wet river banks with pools and waterfalls. It should not be too difficult if you are reasonably fit.

It's not clear at the moment. It's wet season now and that apparently makes it super sandy. During dry season is when it's clear. (According to my guide I had there a few days ago.)
