This was an amazing trip. Our driver did a great job getting us there. We were able to climb up to the top and there were very few other tourists around. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. And the lunch was wonderful. Thanks East Journey Travel

Great visit in a short time
Guide met us right when we exited the port. A great driver who adjusted our order of stops to avoid the heavy traffic. Our guide was informative and friendly. A wonderful way to see a lot in a short time.

        Fun day in Semarang!
We had a great day in Semarang with our tour guide Farro. He was entertaining, and took us to several amazing sites. Our lunch stop was delicious. Thank you!

        Semarang shared private tour
We have an eerie feeling of all those pictures ( needed to be) taken of us by our guide. Far to much! No privacy guaranteed. To the point of unpleasant. The tour was fine. Dane our guide was very informative, very friendly and nice. Tour busses, unfortunately, were given preference over private tours. E.g. we were not allowed inside the oldest Catholic church

Wonder cultural day at prambanan and borobudur
Such a great day with Uke. They kept the pace lively and interesting and the tour surpassed information. It was a full immersion in a cultural experience which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Smaller than Anchor Wat but just as hard to understand how it was built. The steps are much larger than normal steps and no hand rails. It may be difficult if you are older like we are The heat was killing so that made it very hard to walk around. I would do this before Anchor Wat it was a bit of a disappointment,

During our trip to the Borobudur our guide Uke explained a lot about Indonesia and Semarang. At the Borobudur guide Woody was waiting for us. He is a funny guy who made professional videos from our stay at the Borobudur.
It’s a long way up with very high steps, not suitable for people with leg/walking problems.

Our driver and guide made sure we arrived just as the second level of Borobudur opened. We were able to bypass the crowds, see so much more without tripping over other tourists. Our guide gave us wonderful and pertinent history and folklore; our driver was an expert in traversing the busy and congested roads. They took us to a great little restaurant for a late lunch. We covered so much more with East Journey Travels than did our fellow cruise passengers who paid more for this upcharged excursion. Highly recommend—dependable and communicative

Today we visited Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world. It's a 2.5 hour drive from Semarang, so it makes a full day. Our guide, Budi, was extremely enthusiastic, and funny, and gave us a great overview of the temple and its history. The place is amazing! Budi also has an interesting hobby: he likes to take romantic photos of couples. ;o) After visiting the temple, we had a delicious meal at a beautiiful local restaurant. We highly recommend this tour!

The largest Buddhist monument in the world is a must-see site, but seeing it involves a full-day experience, as it is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from the port of Semarang. The drive is interesting, however, as it involves travel through multiple villages, agricultural areas, and mountain views. This tour allows about 1 1/2 hours at the monument, which is needed to climb to the top and fully experience the site. Our guide was very kind and helpful to my husband as he struggled to make the climb. The history of the temple is very interesting, as is the restoration as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is a private tour with guide and driver in a nice, air-conditioned vehicle. The tour included a very nice lunch as well as bottled water during the trip.
