        An Excellent Valentine's Day
Honestly we had the best day. The driver and host John was a joy to spend time with and we tasted some excellent wines and had the best lunch - all in amongst beautiful countryside. We couldn't fault the day - totally worth the cost. We can't wait to return to the Yarra Valley.

Brilliant day in Yarra Valley with lots of wine and laughter
We had a fab fun day which was made even more fun with our knowledgeable driver Tony. We visited 4 really good wineries were we sampled bubbles, whites, rose and reds. There was no pressure or expectation to purchase at any of the wineries but we did as the wines were so good. The lunch we had at the 2nd winery was really really good. The company on the bus were great too, especially the American ladies, Conny, Kathy and Nancy ( sorry Canadian😀) and the newly engaged Chris and Luke.

An excellent way to spend the day. A small group tour visiting four different wineries. The scenery was lovely and our driver was very helpful. The information about the wines was interesting and the tasting was good. The lunch we had was excellent.

Fun day, perfect number of people
Our guide, Tony, provided excellent and fun commentary from the start of this pleasant tour. Lots of wine poured at 4 wineries, so be prepared to pace yourself! Lunch was delicious, at the second stop. Would have liked a snack, maybe crackers, cheese or fruit, since we had so much wine. Or perhaps a suggestion before the tour to bring some ourselves. Overall though a very enjoyable day.

Full day Yarra Valley wine tour
My wife and I enjoyed this tour. There were about 20 of us in a large van and we made it to 4 wineries (with a nice lunch at 1 of them). The wine selections were quite good and the other guests on our tour were lovely. Our guide was friendly and informative. We'd recommend this tour to any wine enthusiasts visiting the Melbourne area.

Great trip to Yarra Valley & the vineyards
Great trip to Yarra Valley with Australian Wine Tour Company. Tony was an excellent driver as well as guide and kept us in splits throughout the journey. 4 wineyards visited along with wine tasting and a great lunch option.

        Eye-opening, appropriately valued
We visited four wineries. The view of vineyards was spectacular. Service was good and each type of wine well explained. The van is little bit crowded though. Our guide Tony is passionate and scholarly in many areas like wine and wildlife

A wine tour well worth doing
I am from Melbourne and took a family member from Melbourn and from the USA on this tour and we all enjoyed it very much. The driver was informative and courteous. Balgownie was great visit and the staff were great and lunch was excellent. Soumah was another standout and would definitely go back there to further explore. The only disappointment was greenstone, we didn't get information on the wines or about the winery and the ambiance wasn't great, as it was the start of the tour a lot of people were hoping the tour would get better and thankfully it did.

        Day amongst the grapes
A packed day, visiting 4 vineyards and sampling at least 4 wines at each vineyard. Lunch was excellent, and the whole day gave an insight to the varieties of grapes which grow best in this Yarra region.

Great Views Would recommend this company
We enjoyed the tour, at the first stop we ordered a platter, which was a great way to start the day and take it all in. The vineyards were beautiful, and lunch was exceptional. Our only suggestion is that they finish at the place we started as they do offer the platters and people were saying they were hungry and wanted some cheese and the last place wouldn't serve us food. The aircon wasn't the greatest on the way back so we were very hot.

Overall, the tour was average. The day felt slightly rushed. Lunch lasted only 45 minutes which also included a wine tasting. We stopped at the Balgownie Estate Winery for lunch but it was unfortunate to learn that their restaurant had burnt down in October 2020. Because of this, we had to have lunch in a corporate tent, which wasn’t ideal as we couldn’t enjoy the nice views/sunshine. We felt that the tour could’ve been changed to stop at a different winery for lunch. Having said this, the bus driver was personable and the wine tour company was very responsive with our requests and accomodating of our large group.

Our guide Nick was extremely knowledgeable on the yarra valley area and wineries and local produce on offer. The bus was a nice sized 24 seater comfortable for the one hours journey from Melbourne city. Our tour included four wineries with lunch included at the Balgownie Estate Winery the meal was excellent quality and a wonderful selection on offer. Pick up and drop off points were exactly as per the tour information all very well organized. This is a must do while visiting Melbourne you will enjoy a fabulous day out.

Picked up, bang on time at 9.00am by driver Tony, who was fantastic with his knowledge and humour. Had visitors from UK, USA, Ireland, Japan, Canada, and New Zealand and everyone got on very well. Visited 4 great wineries, Yerling Farm, Balgownie Estate, Chandon, and Helen & Joey's. Every winery was superb and tastings were included in the price, along with a delicious lunch at the Balgownie Estate. A great day out !

This trip is fabulous and well organised. All four of the vineyards we visited were unique in their own way and by the end we had tried 24 different wines - money well spent! The lunch was also delicious and in a beautiful spot. My only criticism is that I would have liked a little more time at the final vineyard (Moët and Chandon) as it was such a gorgeous spot I think arriving back in Melbourne an hour later to spend more time there would be better. Lovely views on the drive there and our driver John also gave us extra information about the area which was nice :)

Because of the few negative reviews and how much fun we had today we wanted to leave a note saying that we couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. John was our guide and from the get go he was fantastic; so knowledgable and good fun, got all the group feeling up for the tour and kept us there. This is fantastic value for money, the lunch was excellent quality and the 4 stops for 5 different wines at each was plenty for a fantastic day wine tasting - we’d never been before and think it will be hard to beat this. The scenery is stunning, and it was great to be picked up so close to our hotel. You will have a great day out doing this wine tasting, and even if it seems a bit expensive at first, it’s great value, definitely worth doing this as your day out in Melbourne. I would even say that 4 places might have been too many!! 3 would have left us super satisfied and maybe having more time to wander around after lunch would have made it even more relaxed. Thank you to John our great guide and to the tour company for its correspondence.

My wife and I reside in Sydney and decided to book a wine tour of the Yarra Valley rather than hire a car from Melbourne and do your own thing. Great decision. The tour was excellent value for money . The Tour Guide (Tony) did a great job, the wine tastings were most generous and the lunch at Balgownie Estate was first class. All participants on the tour appeared to have a really good time. Participants were from Sydney , Brisbane , Singapore, Hong Kong and Denmark.
Well done Australian Wine Tour Company.

Can’t recommend this tour highly enough; the tastings were well organised and hosted by very knowledgable staff and our guide Chris kept us all entertained (both at the wineries and on the bus between stops) with a perfect balance of local and industry knowledge, humour and stimulating wine chat. Lunch was also delicious. Overall great value for money and left our group of four considering returning to the exact same tour again in future! Thanks Chris and Aussie Wine Tour Co!

We had an absolutely fantastic time on this wine tour. Keith was an outstanding guide who catered to everyones needs. The wineries were exquisite and unique with some beautiful tasting wines.

I booked this trip for my parent's, who are visiting me from the UK. I was wary my dad would not enjoy as he is not really a wine drinker, (also, he gets annoyed when my mother and I get giggly after too much wine! Haha!) but even he had a wonderful day.

      It was worth every penny!

      "Thanks Keith!"

When we booked this trip, we arranged to be picked up at the Immigration Museum. Our driver, Peter, showed up about 15 minutes late, but did apologize and still was able to get to all of the planned wineries and back roughly at the planned time so that was good. There were 21 people on our tour, and we were on a 23 seat bus so it was nearly full. We visited 4 wineries (including Rochford instead of Greenstone which we had been expecting) where we had tastings and were served lunch at Balgownie Estate. Each winery let us taste 5 or 6 wines, and we had a choice of a glass of either red or white wine with our lunch. Lunch consisted of a choice of salmon, chicken, pork belly or risotto. My wife and I both had the salmon which was very good. Another change from the trip description is that face masks are no longer required or any type of proof of vaccination.

Great day out and good value.
John Murphy our Driver/Guide was knowledgeable, informative and great fun. Some good stories !
Tasted some very nice wines too.
If you go to Steels Gate where we stopped for Lunch, order the deconstructed cheesecake dessert for an extra AUD 15.
It’s TDF and worth every cent.
