- 1129 km south of Bariloche on Route 40, is the town of El Bolsón. The fully paved route borders the Gutierrez, Mascardi and Guillelmo Lakes and crosses the Villegas, Foyel and Quemquemtreu rivers to enter the city. There is an inescapable visit to the famous Craft Fair that brings together a huge amount of local products and to the farms, which produce fine and sweet fruits. Cheeses and craft beer are famous. 16 km away is the town of Lago Puelo, the National Park and homonymous lake, worth visiting for its colorful waters of turquoise tones.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Cras8580 contributionsBuenos Aires’ Flavors and SightsThis tour was a feast for the senses! Our guide introduced us to the best local foods, including empanadas and Malbec wine, while also sharing fascinating stories about the city’s landmarks. A delicious and informative tour!Written 27 August 2024
- Rozas7680 contributionsAn unforgettable experience"Walking through the streets of Buenos Aires with our guide was like stepping back in time. From the grand architecture to the lively markets, every corner had a story to tell. An unforgettable experience!Written 27 August 2024
- Rody02780 contributionsAmazing experienceOur guide brought the spirit of Buenos Aires to life with a fantastic tango show and a tour of the historic San Telmo neighborhood. We learned so much about the culture and history. Highly recommend this tour!Written 27 August 2024
- 287chadg0 contributionsAvoid this company!Avoid this company. We are Americans who were taken advantage by Gabriel and his team on a tour we signed up for in Nicaragua. There are many articles online (and blogs) of similar scenarios with people who have dealt with Gabriel. This is very sad and is not acceptable. We hope to find justice and get our money back, but further more, we hope to prevent this from happening to other people.Written 18 January 2024
- I3270KGpaulr0 contributionsGood administration, but poor value and uncomfortableThe administration was good, it was responsive to requests and easy to make a booking. But we thought several aspects of the tour were poor. --The guide did not accompany the group on its boat tour or the viewing of the Perito Moreno. --The bus was cramped, it was uncomfortable in general and particularly for the long rides on unpaved/gravel roads (two hours to the Estancia) and --The lunch was mediocre.Written 4 January 2024
- Jeffaroundthisworld0 contributionsTo many locals residents on the cheap $70 season pass.Unfortunately this ski hill is overrun with rude, aggressive locals residents who only pay equivalent of $70 to ski the entire season. They should stop giving the pass away for so little to the pushy locals and focus on the tourists from Buenos Aires and abroad paying more for one day ticket than the locals pay for all season.Written 10 September 2023
- JP_Vann20180 contributionsAn Exciting Argentina Adventure with Receptivo Aborigen ToursArgentina boasts of some of the world's breathtaking sceneries like the Patagonia and the Iguazù Falls. My exciting Argentinian adventure was made possible with the help of Gonzalo of Receptivo Aborigen Tours. Gonzalo handled my inquiry and arranged an interesting customized package that was right for my limited budget. For less than USD2,000 my 12 days/11 nights package included the following: * 2 nights hotel accommodation with breakfast in Buenos Aires * 3 nights hotel accommodation with breakfast in El Calafate, Ushuaia and Iguazù * Sightseeing tours (bilingual - in Spanish and English) in each city including a relaxing ranch tour with asado lunch outside Buenos Aires, mini trekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier and the Devil's Throat speed boat ride in Iguazù. Tour pick ups were on time except in Iguazù. * Roundtrip transfers * 4 internal flights (Buenos Aires-El Calafate, El Calafate-Ushuaia, Ushuaia-Iguazù, Iguazù-Buenos Aires) Admission fees to the national parks were not included but those are very minimal, about ARS5,500 each. Optional tours may also be availed on the site and better if you pay in Argentine Peso. And here are some of the reasons why I highly recommend booking with Receptivo Aborigen for your Argentina trip: * Communication was fast and easy through WhatsApp and email. * Online payment was secure through We Travel. Please note, however, that surcharge was almost 6%. * Gonzalo was ever patient with my requests. He was helpful and kind enough to accommodate last minute changes due to my unexpected delayed arrival. After the tours, he even checked how each tour went. He also convinced me to take optional tours, the Perito Moreno mini trekking and the Devil's Throat boat ride. Both turned out to be two of the most thrilling things I have done on my trips!!! Thank you for the suggestion, Gonzalo! * The included 2 and 3 hotels were all centrally located and clean. * Very good value for money!!! * Excellent customer service!!!Written 7 May 2023

- cbhutto0 contributionsFull day pioneer experience to Perito Moreno GlacierDuring our bus ride from El Calafate to the Estancia Nibeko-Aike we were given a history of the settlement of this area by early pioneers. We bumped our way along the rocky trail with sightings of raptors, condors, rheas and guanacos. The ride over the historic trail gave us the feel of traveling in a wagon in spite of the fact that we were in a temperature controlled bus. As we neared the ranch we saw flamingos as well as sheep and cattle. We passed the memorial of the Massacre of Estancia Anita where in 1921 the army killed ranch hands who were asking for improved working conditions. Upon arrival at the ranch which is in Los Glaciares National Park, we enjoyed wonderful views of this part of Patagonia and were treated to a horse barrel race and a sheep shearing demonstration. Lunch was superb: salad, sausage and lamb. Following lunch we boarded an enclosed boat for a ride to the Perito Moreno Glacier. Before reaching the glacier we deboarded for a 1/2 mile hike along the shore. Back on the boat we rode near the glaciers which offer great photo opportunities. We returned to the bus for short ride to the raised metal walkway at the park visitors center. Where we saw various views of the glacier and impressive thunderous sounds of bits of the glacier falling into the water. Our guide Noelia was wonderful. We returned by highway back to El Calafate.Written 23 December 2022
- M4273PRcarolp0 contributionsLove Mendoza! We had a great tour of the Taipiche, Sin Fin and Zuccardi wineries with Deni. She was knowledgeable about the wine-making process and was able to answer our questions and interpret from the Spanish-speaing guides at each winery. We especially enjoyed the tasting at Tapuche and also the opportunity to learn about the process for producing olive oil at Zuccardi. The lunch at Pan y Oliva was delicious! Our stay at Laras de Chacras was also terrific. Great staff, cozy rooms and a great daily breakfast! Really enjoyed our time in Mendoza!Written 17 July 2022
- camilae2002990 contributionsIn love with Las SalinasHow can I describe the amazing landscapes that Jujuy has. I had the opportunity to visit "Las Salinas" in 2019. It was a long and hard road but it definitely worth it. I went with my family and some friends that live in San Salvador de Jujuy, since we are in love with their province they have been our tourist guides. I would strongly recommend a Coke tea time with nothing but oxygen to accompany if you don't want feel your stomach like a washing machine during the trip. It needs to be undestood that your the final destination is 4000 metres above the sea level, approximately. Another thing that you should take with you are some sunglasses because the environment is covered in salt, which is white in color and bounces off the sun's rays in a way that will disturb your eyesight. Las Salinas are just a quearter part of the beauties that this Argentinian place has.Written 14 June 2021
- Teacher_0520 contributionsA trip to the pastA wonderful city with old buildings and narrow streets. It invites us to travel to the past. I went with my family and we really enjoy the trip, We knew its historic neighborhood, its museums, the Portuguese and Spanish colonial buildings. We also visited the Colonia del Sacramento lighthouse which is surrounded by the ruins of a convent and has panoramic views.Written 3 May 2020
- BobandMaggie600 contributionsEasy guided tour of bodegas and olive producerAn enjoyable 4 hour trip to see 2 different bodegas and one olive production company by minibus in small group tour . Good clearly explained tours of each venue followed by 3 wines sampled at each bodegas and various olive oils and olive products sampled. If you don’t want to organise your own tour this gives you a good option.Written 5 March 2020

Jan 2024 • Friends
This year I made the trip with my friends and since I didn't get much information about the possible destinations to do without a car, I decided to collaborate with this post.
Details before you start reading:
*All bus schedules can be seen in Guia Voy
*For all destinations, except Puerto Patriadas, the bus company is called La Golondrina.
*Prices are from January 2024, where the Blue Dollar is around 1220 pesos
- Day 1: The bus from Bariloche takes approximately 3 hours, from there I recommend taking a bus to your accommodation, which cost 1500 pesos.
It is recommended, depending on the arrival time, to do something short for that day. How can it be to visit the square fair.
- Day 2: The blue drawer. The ideal is to go on the bus to Warthon at 8am (1150 Argentine pesos). If not, you can take a taxi to the base that costs 9 thousand. Likewise, one day before, you must register on the anprale page, capture the email. And, when you return, notify the return in the same email.
The excursion consists of trekking lasting between 3 hours and 4 hours per section, depending on the pace of walking and the stops you are looking to make. Keep in mind that, along the entire route, there is no sign and you can only buy something in the shelters that you pass. In any case, the water is melt water so it is drinkable.
My recommendation is to go to the box for lunch, get in and hang out there; to return at 4:30/5 p.m. and arrive early for the 8:00 p.m. bus, which is the last one.
- Day 3: Lago Puelo, one of the simplest destinations in physical demand and easy to get to. The buses run every hour and cost 850 pesos per person.
Once you get off the bus, you enter the national park - which does not charge an entrance fee - and you can go to the beach to spend the day. A few meters away there are bathrooms and a grocery store nearby for anything you need.
Keep in mind that the ideal is to return before 9 p.m., which is the time when there are no more park rangers.
- Day 4: Paradise. The only trekking that does not require physical demands of all of those mentioned. But it has logs, rocks which you have to jump over and a path to get there that is not fully signposted. Likewise, at the time of posting -January 2024-, the bridge to cross is not enabled. In any case, you can cross the river, or stay on the other side where there are also little beaches to spend the day.
The bondi to get there costs 730 pesos and is called Warthon for campsites. The same must be taken to Camping Doña Rosa. In the guide, the times to this stop are not marked; and the Huenai campsite should be used as a reference.
As in El Cajon, there are no bathrooms nearby in the area and the supplies along the way are few, so it is recommended to bring everything you need from the center.
- Day 5: Puerto Patriada, to reach the destination there is a single one-way bus at 11am, which costs 2000 per person. And, for the return, it leaves the place at 7:00 p.m.
This destination is ideally left for the end, when one is tired, since you don't have to walk far to get there. Likewise, it has bathrooms and places near the beach where you can spend the whole day. Furthermore, according to the townspeople, kayaking here is cheaper than elsewhere.
- Day 6: Bahia las percas, you have to take the bus to Epuyen Lago, which costs 850 pesos each way. And so far it has 3 schedules, 7:30, 2:10 and 7:15 p.m. We went to the one at 7:30 and came back at the one at 7:15
The destination to get there consists of a 3-hour trek per section. The reality is that it is a nice place but, being little known, it does not have all the security of registration and rescue protocol that the cajon has. And, at times, the way to get there is along the mountain gravel. Likewise, to get there, you should be guided by the signs and red marks that usually appear along the way. So I recommend that you be very attentive.
During the walk and in the place, there are no bathrooms or anything to buy. So it is advisable to go with a lot of water, since the path is very bare and you will only come across a hill, where water cannot be drunk.
When you return to the base, there are already bathrooms and some places to shop.

Divine place to visit with the family; incredible landscapes; the route from Bariloche is a bit in bad condition but can be traveled. The landscapes along the route are divine and Bolson in spring seems magical; with its pink trees they are wonderful. The people are very friendly. The road is long to carry fuel and snacks for the trip since there are few places to stop en route. It is worth visiting this magical city between mountains.

Traffic was overwhelming, Bariloche was hot and packed, drivers aggressive. Most restaurants were just average for food , high for price.
El Bolson slightly less frantic but not fun
Lago Puelo is great, hope it stays that way.
