      Don’t go to see Santa
Don’t go to see Santa. We usually love the Ginger factory & are on our second annual pass. However, I took my 5 & 7 year olds there to see Santa recently only to have the door shut in our faces as ‘Santa had finished for the day.’ He was still taking photos and the family before us were allowed in. There was NO other children waiting just my 2. No care or empathy shown, staff happy to leave 2 small children upset shouting ‘Santa is leaving.’ Would have taken 1 min to give them a picture. We had gone specifically to see Santa as we had the year before, dressed in their Christmas outfits & my 5 year old walking around with his Santa hat. No Christmas spirit shown at all. Very disappointing Ginger factory. You have lost some loyal customers.

Aimed at toddlers but not cheap
The children’s activities are geared to toddlers. When we went the bouncy castle was deflated and there were no dressed up Zog or Gruffalo’s, apparently they come on Saturdays. The train ride was spoilt by the voice over, which was like being in a 15 minute long advertisement for the ginger factory, spruiking their tours. The whole place was in marketing overdrive. But they don’t make gingerbread men for all that, they’re made somewhere else and come in plastic packets. The boat ride was fun, but overall I felt like it charged more money than it was worth.

Lovely day out for the family
We took our baby son here for the day and had such a lovely time. He’s only 8 months old and in a pram - we felt very well accommodated for. We could see so much fun stuff to do with older children. It really is such a fun place. We did the factory tour and loved it, especially the delicious tasters at the end. We also did the boat road which Bub LOVED. Highly recommend for families with kids of all ages!

      Definitely worth visiting!
We did the Factory Tour & Tasting on a week day and it was very interesting. The tasting afterwards was great and we tasted about six or seven things all up. Lots to do for children. Great cafe there serving scones, hot and cold food and ice-cream. Gift shop is great and prices are quite reasonable at the cafe and gift shop. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A great fun attraction for all ages
We took the Overboard ride and Train ride bundle and had a great time. The Overboard ride is a boat ride where you follow the Gingerbread Man around the world spotting him in all the different locations. It is very well set up and we found it a lot of fun. From here we walked over to the train and took the took around the gardens where there is commentary on the history of ginger in Yandina. There are quite a few outlets around the park and while it is set up for families with young children us old folks enjoyed it too.

Don’t expect a free day out
This was somewhat fun. But the free entry doesn’t get you into the factory at all and we’d have hoped there would be more tastings around. We liked the umbrella walk and enjoyed the Zog area and the train ride was good (except for one really stinky spot!) although the audio is amusingly mostly just trying to sell you on all the other various tours.

Overpriced tourist trap for families with young children
Really disappointed with The Ginger Factory. The train would have been pleasant if they didn’t have an automated message playing the whole time trying to upsell your visit. The boat ride line was also extremely long due to the fact they were only loading single groups on boats for photo purposes. The boat ride is extremely outdated and bordering on cultural appropriation. If they had of loaded the boats with more people the line would have been much faster. It’s not a Ginger Factory, it’s a place designed to exploit parents of young children by upselling them from the second they enter. Avoid!

      Nostalgic family day.
Family tradition to visit the ginger factory I visited with my Nan & it was very nice to visit today with our first grandchild. The staff were all so friendly and helpful The gardens are lovely to walk through. It was really nice to ride on the train haven’t done it in many years. We had our fill on gingerbread men yumm The only thing I was a bit disappointed with was no longer being able to purchase a ginger man stuffed toy apparently the ginger factory no longer makes them.

We always stop in when on the Sunshine Coast
We always stop in to The Ginger Factory when on the Sunshine Coast. It’s a great place to stock up on your favourite Ginger Factory products and gourmet food items. The food outlets also offer a variety of different options for a quick coffee or a substantial meal. Free to enter with plenty of parking.

      Fun at the Ginger Factory
I haven't been before, so I took my friend from Melbourne. We did the Factory tour and Harvest tour - both were very informative about how they grow and make their ginger products. The products are very yummy! You get to taste test on both of these tours. We saw heaps of families with kids there on the day - all the kids were having a great time too.

We spent a couple of hours here. Looking at the park, it seems mostly suited to fanning with small children. All the same I'm sure there's something to interest everybody unless you don't like ginger!
We did the tasting tour plus train ride. Of those two, I'd recommend the taste tour as you get to know about ginger farming & production, and some of the history. It'll be difficult not to buy any ginger products before you leave the place. If you do the tour, they offer a small discount on a tasting package. Bear in mind, you could buy a lot of this stuff at your local supermarket.
The 15min train ride was enjoyable too. If anything, it keeps another ex-cane hauling locomotive in action and off the scrap heap.
It's certainly a pleasant place to spend a couple of hours but maybe not recommended if you have some kind of aversion to ginger.

The kids will like the train and all the treats on offer but otherwise an overpriced, underwhelming experience with average food at the cafe. I found the boat and puppets a bit creepy but the kids liked spotting the gingerbread man. The train would be better without the recorded tour guide, which pointed out sights such as the ‘administration building’. An ok way to kill a morning with bored toddlers/preschoolers, but best to go with low expectations.

The Ginger Factory is exorbitantly expensive for what it is. An underwhelming 10 minute train ride and a 15 minute indoor boat ride costs $80 for 1 adult and 3 kids under 12. The ginger tour and bee tour cost an ADDITIONAL $100!! A few other simple playground facilities but definitely nothing worth $180. Food expensive too (although good). $20 for a burger. Suited only to very young kids.

This was absolute garbage. Factory tour that showed nothing as the factory was not operating. Saw a video which you can watch similar on the web. The whole presentation was puerile. It was junk. Three adults went at $17.50 each. A Seinfeld experience - a tour about nothing. One of the biggest scams north of Brisbane.

What a fun, well run and beautiful establishment this is. It’s no wonder they have won many awards. The staff are absolutely welcoming and attentive, from front desk, tour guides to the cafe team clearing tables. No cost for entry but you can pay to do rides and tours, or you can stroll the beautiful grounds and quirky shops and playground for the kids. The aim is a must for the kiddies, only 15 mins. The factory tour was fun and well informed and you even get a taste of treats to try (gluten free and vegetarian available, let the guide know in the beginning. Great way to spend the day for all ages.

We stopped here on our 300 km drive from North Lakes to Hervey Bay.
After visiting the Point Cartwright viewpoint, we drove 36 km northwest to this popular center of activity. Although it’s primarily designed for children, we enjoyed seeing the murals, flowers and pottery/gift shops. Departing, we noted the Nutworks across the street and stopped to learn about the Bauple nuts collected by the aboriginals, named in 1857, the macadamia nut, and even sampled 3 variations. Hawaii popularized this nut by 1946 with the ‘Royal Hawaiian’ and it is now largely produced in South Africa and Australia.
Also of interest was the nearby Tillstead pioneer settlement built in 1900 with a cafe, house and barn museum.

Arriving mid morning, we were very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful gardens and welcoming staff. We booked the 11.00 am factory tour and an amazingly informative lady called Kathy took us around and finished off the tour with some tasty ginger treats. At 12 noon we went to the Live bee show, where Blake gave us 45 minutes of his fantastic bee facts followed by tasting of several different honeys. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. There are so many things to do. Well done Kathy, Blake and Ginger factory team.

We have visited the Ginger Factory on a number of occasions aver the last 10 years. It has become disappointing. It has changed little in this time and become expensive. Products sold are often what can be purchased in supermarkets at a lower price and attractions like the train ride and factory visit are heavily overpriced. It was once a really good attraction now just another expensive tourist location.

Super awesome experience, my wife dragged me to this, but I was really surprised and impressed.

The place is lovely, the ginger tour was interesting and the food was delicious. The Bee Show was very interesting. All presenters of the shows were engaging, enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable. A really great day out.

The Bee Show and Ginger Factory Tour are a presentation that may go over very young kids heads and lead to boredom.

We visited during the week so the factory was busy. It was interesting and the samples we had afterwards were great. I'm not a lover of ginger but loved all of them. It is clearly all about the balance of the ginger with other flavours. Learning about the bees was equally good and trying the wonderful honey was fascinating. The boat ride with all the locally made puppets was enormous fun, so much so we went three times. Similarly the train was lovely travelling through the property and once again we went around three times. The food offering for lunch was very good and we had really tasty quality burgers.
