Our group of 6 visited Merrylands from the Central Coast and each of us enjoyed the tour immensely.
Our guide was Alaa - a lovely young lady who shared so many interesting stories about the restuarants and shops we visited, family traditions, and glimpses into her own personal life.
We were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from every venue we entered. The first restuarant, Al Shami, was a standout for me, beautiful decor and a stunning brass light fitting over a fountain in the middle of the room. Our breakfast here was enough to convince us we should visit again.
The tour continued with spice shops, delicious dumplings, breads, kebabs, street food and a cake shop..... You will not leave this tour hungry!!!
Alaa shared lots of stories about the venues we visited, but best of all, she shares them with pride.
What a gem!

We just took this tour on the weekend with Sahar as our guide and it was FANTASTIC! Such fresh food, so many new flavours and cooking ideas... I came home with tons of new ingredients and ideas and a VERY full belly. We will be booking the Cabramatta tour next and I wholeheartedly recommend Taste Tours to anyone and everyone. We're Sydney residents and we'd never seen or heard of a lot of these places.

An eye opener to what's in our own backyard. Sunday is the perfect day to see so many people form so many different backgrounds on the streets as families. The food is amazing: ice cream with breakfast..who knew? Don' t eat before you take the tour! and take a big shopping bag

The Taste Cultural Food Tour of Merrylands was out of this world amazing! Every restaurant/outlet we went to welcomed us and served us such beautiful food. What made the experience even better was that our guide Alaa gave us deep insight into each restaurant's history and how the owner started the business and their success stories.
The falafel from the first stop was my highlight! I've never had a more delicious falafel dish in my life. I also loved the dumplings and the sweets at the end. The major highlight of the evening was our guide Alaa! She shared with us her amazing and inspirational story and this took our breath away!! Cannot wait to go back and do another tour!

I attended this tour on the 24th Oct 21 Sunday between 11:00-14:00, it was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. Our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgable, genuine, friendly, professional and very helpful etc. The 3hr tour was full of highlights, and the pace and content was just perfectly balanced and appropriate. There were so many food items I was unfamiliar with but was amazed after being introduced, considering I’m a foodie and have eaten everywhere and all over the world, this tour was certainly an eye-opening experience for me. All our tour members had so much fun together as the guide engaged us well. This was my 2nd time joining this tour and would not mind at all going again in the soon future. Highly highly recommended.

We had a wonderful Sunday tour, roaming Afghani, Syrian and Persian restaurants and shops around Merrylands. All the food was truly delicious, and the shops were very interesting. The tour guides were really lovely, and gave great explanations of all the foods we were eating.
The 3.5 hour tour went by at a good pace, there was nowhere that I thought we stopped too long at, but there was plenty of time to look around (and at the shops to buy anything you wanted to, although there was no pressure to purchase anything).
We finished the tour already planning to recommend it to friends, and to look into other Taste tours we could do in other parts of Sydney!

An interesting, educational and fun experience. We ate well and diversely. Our guide, Nayereh, was warm, welcoming, intelligent and spoke generously of her experiences and understanding of her culture. She really made the tour!
Having done many food tours in other countries I wanted to try one in my own city and am really pleased we made the time. I intend to gift the experience to others. Thank you Nayereh and Taste Tours!

I had a lovely experience with the taste tour, our guide was knowledgeable, funny and knew all the best spots and facts about the cuisine, area and spots we were visiting. All of the shop and restaurant owners were generous and provided us with delectable food and I will definitely be revisiting these spots in the future. The tour was rich with flavours and culture and I felt humbled to learn more about the dishes and to try them.

A really excellent experience - our guide had a deep knowledge of Afghan, and Iranian culture and so got lots of great stories (including a short but interesting dancing exhibition), wonderful food (including the best kebab in Australia) and an introduction to some amazing taste sensations (hello carrot jam!). Also, loved how she was able to help us 'see' distinct pieces of art, clothing, and symbols that perhaps normally would mash up into a singular environment. Interesting, tremendous value and we also met some pretty lovely people.

Another excellent Taste Tour - a rich mix of story, culture, food and wonderful providores. I love the chance to get to know another part of the city. Thank you Parasdoo for being such a warm and interesting guide, and thanks to all the restaurants and other shop owners who welcomed us, and let us glimpse a little of the rich cultures that Afgani, Persian and Syrian peoples have brought to Sydney.
Came home with a bag full of goodies, and can't wait for my next Taste Tour Experience. Everything felt safe and fun, and was carefully socially distanced without any dramas.
